Does Cleveland Even Believe in Shedeur Sanders?

Image
By John Johnson | Man of Blessings Sports Media Martinsburg, WV Owen O’Connor, Browns Wire BEREA, Ohio — “Blame him for plenty, but Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said he’s not directly responsible for a recent high-profile draft pick.” That quote from the Associated Press says a lot without saying too much — and if you read between the lines, it raises serious questions about the Cleveland Browns’ commitment to rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Let’s get straight to it: when the owner distances himself from a draft pick, it’s not just smoke — there’s fire behind that. It’s looking more and more like Shedeur wasn’t Jimmy Haslam’s guy, and based on how training camp has gone so far, it doesn’t look like he was head coach Kevin Stefanski’s guy either. Reports out of camp are disappointing, especially considering Kenny Pickett’s injury. You would think that would open the door for Shedeur to get meaningful first-team reps and a chance to prove he belongs. But instead, he’s been stu...

Date: July 24, 2025 Location: Spring Mills High School – Martinsburg, WV Photographer: John Johnson | Man Of Blessings Photography As the summer chapter closes and football season nears, I had the opportunity to document the final day of summer workouts for the Spring Mills High School Cardinals Football Team—and these young men didn’t disappoint. Led by Head Coach Marcus Law, with support from Flow Fitness and Nate Sowers, the team went through a full-performance testing session that highlighted their hard work over the past few months. The day included 40-yard dash sprints, agility testing, and an intense grind in the weight room—where effort, focus, and leadership were on full display. These moments reflect the heart of the program—discipline, accountability, and a hunger to compete. I’ve included a few of my favorite shots below to give you a glimpse into the day, but...

Tracy McGrady’s Legacy: Greatness Without a Championship

Image
(Photo credit should read CALVIN KNIGHT/AFP/Getty Images) When basketball fans debate the greatest players to never win an NBA Championship, Tracy McGrady is always at the top of the list. There’s no denying McGrady’s individual talent—he was a seven-time NBA All-Star, a two-time scoring champion, and one of the most electrifying players of his era. But when it comes to NBA championships, McGrady’s resume falls short. The Missed Opportunity: Orlando vs. Detroit One of the biggest blemishes on McGrady’s playoff legacy came during the 2003 NBA Playoffs, when his Orlando Magic team held a 3-1 series lead over the Detroit Pistons in the first round. Instead of closing out the series, Orlando collapsed, losing three straight games and the series in heartbreaking fashion. This collapse added to the narrative that McGrady-led teams lacked the grit and leadership necessary to advance deep into the playoffs. The Harsh Truth: Leadership and Legacy Despite his personal greatness, McGrady never ca...
